My Mind

This is a piece I created out of strings of yarn and a hanging bare lightbulb. This piece is to resemble the inside of my mind. Each stain represents a memory along with each color to represent an emotion. The light bulb is in the center of the strings and represents my spirit. It is in the center of My Mind and is the embodiment of dreams, ideas, and soul.

This piece took me over sixty hours to complete. My best friend and I tied each string to a thin piece of sheet. It was very tedious work but really worth it. I received good feedback for this piece. It was fun watching people walk through it. I wanted it to feel like when you wall through that you were displaced from where you actually were. People got this feeling as they walked through and its really cool to watch people disappear inside of the strings of yarn.
